ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Introduces Weekly Live Streaming Series "Real Sounds"

April 14, 2020

Featured Guests Include Multiplatinum Songwriter and Producer OG Parker, Producer Kid Class, Gospel Singer Bri Babineaux and more!

NEW YORK, April 14, 2020 – ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, has introduced a weekly live streaming series, #ASCAPRealSounds. Part of ASCAP Rhythm & Soul’s initiative to create fresh digital content for music fans, the series kicked off on March 31 and will take place live every Tuesday on the @ASCAPUrban Instagram Live page. The series will alternate between their three main live shows: Deconstructed, Q&A, and Real Sounds.

Deconstructed gives viewers an opportunity to learn about the production behind a producer or songwriter’s biggest records. Viewers get an inside look at the various components of the creation of two to three tracks, including the programming, layered production, beat breakdowns and suggestions the producer or songwriter may have used from other collaborators. Producer Kid Class's Deconstructed session detailed some of his biggest records to date, including “Won’t He Do It” by Koryn Hawthorne and “Don’t Come Easy” by Raheem Devaughn.

The Q&A sessions engage viewers in moderated conversations with a featured guest detailing their success within the entertainment industry. These live panels will highlight a collection of artists, writers, producers, managers and industry executives, with discussion covering an array of topics. Last week, media correspondent Dree Taylor moderated a conversation with entertainment manager Malita The Mogul and multiplatinum producer & songwriter, OG Parker.

Real Sounds was created to provide an at-home, intimate concert experience for viewers. Prominent singers and songwriters from all genres will perform three to four songs of their choice.

The upcoming ASCAP Real Sound series schedule includes:

April 14th - Bri Babineaux for Real Sounds

April 21st – Dre Moon for Deconstructed

April 28th - TBD
