August 26, 2019 –The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held their annual showcase series, “On the Come Up,” in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York last week. The free events give rising artists around the country the opportunity to get onstage and connect with fans during intimate performances.

Each installment of this year’s “On The Come Up” Showcase Series proved memorable with stellar shows and excited fans. The impressive lineups featured an array of artists from a variety of genres and gave audiences the chance to get the know the people behind the music.

Featured performers in New York this year included: Maliibu Miitch, IV Jay, NBDY and Souly Had; in Atlanta: Domani, Armani Caesar, Ayanis, Brie, Janiyah with special guest Johntá Austin; in Los Angeles: Adrian Marcel, Marco McKinnis, Asiahn, Darius Coleman, Joyce Wrice, K. Forest and Girls Make Beats.

ASCAP “On the Come Up” is a showcase series that began as a newsletter chronicling ASCAP’s rising urban songwriters and producers. Over the past few years, “On the Come Up” has identified the industry’s next chart-topping leaders including Miguel, DeJ Loaf, Fetty Wap, Tasha Cobbs, Mike Will Made-It, Eric Bellinger and Jonathan McReynolds. ASCAP’s “On The Come Up” has since come to life as an ongoing series of showcases throughout the country, featuring exclusive performances with artists tapped to break next, and a focus on ASCAP members who are experiencing their first taste of chart success.

The showcases give rising stars a high profile opportunity to introduce their talents, and are the perfect chance for audiences to get to know these new faces and voices.

About ASCAP
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) is a professional membership organization of songwriters, composers and music publishers of every kind of music. ASCAP's mission is to license and promote the music of its members and foreign affiliates, obtain fair compensation for the public performance of their works and to distribute the royalties that it collects based upon those performances. ASCAP members write the world's best-loved music and ASCAP has pioneered the efficient licensing of that music to hundreds of thousands of enterprises who use it to add value to their business - from bars, restaurants and retail, to radio, TV and cable, to Internet, mobile services and more. The ASCAP license offers an efficient solution for businesses to legally perform ASCAP music while respecting the right of songwriters and composers to be paid fairly. With more than 725,000 members representing more than 11.5 million copyrighted works, ASCAP is the worldwide leader in performance royalties, service and advocacy for songwriters and composers, and the only American performing rights organization (PRO) owned and governed by its writer and publisher members.
