Stefflon Don And Tom Walker To Be Honoured With ASCAP Vanguard Award At ASCAP London Awards 23 October 2018

LONDON, 17 Sept 2018 – Today The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, revealed the honourees for the ASCAP Vanguard Award. Stefflon Don and Tom Walker will both be presented with the award at the ASCAP London Awards 2018. The annual celebration of songwriters and composers will take place on Tuesday 23 October 2018 in downtown London.
Award-winning bi-lingual multitalented rapper, singer and songwriter Stefflon Don has experienced huge success, having performed at the legendary Glastonbury festival before even landing her first record deal. In Spring 2017, Don signed to her own label 54 London which became a subsidiary to Universal Music Group. She has received numerous accolades including Best Female at the MOBO awards 2017, Best Newcomer at the NME Awards 2018, shortlisted as one of three for the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award 2018 and more recently, made history as the first ever British entrant in XXL’s annual “Freshman List.”. Don's hit single “Hurtin' Me” reached number 7 in the UK charts and has had over 100 million views on YouTube. Stefflon has collaborated with a host of star-studded names, including Grammy award-winning producer DJ Khaled, Sean Paul, Future, French Montana, Jax Jones, Luis Fonsi and with Drake as a feature on his latest number one album,Scorpion. She will be going on her biggest UK tour to date in November including performing at the Hammersmith Apollo.
Tom Walker, the Scottish born, Manchester-bred singer-songwriter broke through with his international hit single “Leave A Light On” which was number one in the iTunes chart in 17 countries including the UK. The song has sold over 2 million copies worldwide with over 300 million streams globally after featuring on the Sony Bravia TV advert. It went platinum in the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, double platinum in Italy and Switzerland and was number four in the European Airplay Chart. Walker has sold out his own headline shows all over the globe as well as supporting George Ezra and The Script and he has played over forty festivals this year alone. Walker recently announced his debut album What A Time To Be Alive will be released on 19 October, produced by Jim Abbiss, Steve Mac and Mike Spencer. He will also be embarking on his UK tour through October which includes a date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, before heading off across the continent for the European leg of the tour.

The ASCAP Awards, London ceremony will also see esteemed awards presented for Song of the Year, Top Digital Song, Top EDM Song and Film Score of the Year. The evening will be attended by some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry.
The ASCAP London Awards 2018 take place on Tuesday 23 October in downtown London.
