fun. is the Grammy Award-winning band made up of Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff. Formed in 2008, fun. released their debut album, Aim & Ignite, in August 2009, receiving positive reviews from music critics and fans alike. But it was their sophomore album, Some Nights, which earned the band two Grammys for Best New Artist and Song of the Year for the album’s first single, the endlessly catchy and anthemic “We Are Young” featuring fellow ASCAP Vanguard Award recipient Janelle Monáe. “We Are Young” reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 2012, marking the first time a multi-member rock band had a #1 Billboard debut on the Hot 100 in over a decade. “We Are Young” has since been certified five-times platinum by the RIAA, and it has become the first song to log seven weeks of 300,000 or more in digital sales. The song also earned fun. the 2013 ASCAP Song of the Year award at the 30th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards. Bolstered by the massive global success of “We Are Young,” as well as the 4x platinum title track, “Some Nights” and 2x platinum song “Carry On,” Some Nights debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified platinum.

ASCAP will also honor the songwriters and publishers of the most performed songs of 2013 at the 31st annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards. Top awards will be given out for Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Publisher of the Year.
