New York, NY, February 19, 2014: ASCAP Vice President of Creative Services, Film & TV/Visual Media Shawn LeMone today announced the promotion of Jennifer Harmon and Jeff Jernigan to Directors of Creative Services, Film & TV/Visual Media. Based out of ASCAP's Los Angeles office, both Harmon and Jernigan have been with ASCAP since 2004 and were most recently Associate Directors. They both report directly to LeMone.

Commenting on Jennifer Harmon's promotion, LeMone said: “Jen has consistently proven to be an incredibly valuable problem solver and all-around utility player at ASCAP. In addition to her years co-producing our LA Film Scoring Workshop, Jen has been an instrumental contributor to many other events including our outreach at the Game Developers Conference, ASCAP ‘I Create Music’ EXPO and numerous film festivals. She has identified many upcoming composers and nurtured their careers while also being asked to spearhead some very complex and high profile projects on behalf of the department.”

Jennifer Harmon began her career at ASCAP as a member of both the Rhythm & Soul and Film & Television Membership teams, alternately taking calls from chart-topping R&B/rap artists and film & TV composers. In her life before ASCAP, she worked in academic research in psychology and neuroscience and is published in both fields. Now she applies her analytical training to researching domestic and international royalty issues for ASCAP members. Her continuing passion for educational outreach has led her to co-produce ASCAP’s Television & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis, and to take the lead with ASCAP's partnerships with Film Independent's Project Involve and Education Through Music – Los Angeles.

Commenting on Jeff Jernigan's promotion, LeMone said: "Jeff has increasingly elevated his contributions and level of responsibility as one of ASCAP's most impactful membership representatives. His knowledge and ability to work with members and staff from different areas including pop and musical theatre have greatly expanded our outreach and capabilities in the Film & TV department. He is consistently innovative and has taken a leadership role in producing many of our flagship events, such as our annual Film & TV Music Awards."

Jeff Jernigan is an essential part of ASCAP's Film & Television department, representing ASCAP members and providing them with career development services and support. During his time at ASCAP, Jeff has worked on cultivating personal relationships and continues to help composers and songwriters get recognized. His knowledge and genuine passion for the industry make him a true advocate for music creators. Jeff co-produces ASCAP’s annual Film & TV Music Awards, is on the board of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and is a member of the World Soundtrack Academy (WSA). Prior to his position at ASCAP, Jeff worked at BMG Music Publishing.

In addition to these promotions, Rachel Perkins has been hired as a new Membership Representative for the Film & TV/Visual Media department. Rachel previously worked as a Membership Coordinator in ASCAP's New York office. Working as a junior executive for ASCAP, Rachel will be based in Los Angeles. Also recently added to the Film & TV staff as Membership Coordinators are Patrick Clancy and Yvette Martinez in Los Angeles and Shelby Comstock in New York.

Michael Todd continues as the Senior Director for the West Coast and Sue Devine as Senior Director for the East Coast in ASCAP's Film & TV/Visual Department. Commenting on the recent restructuring of the Department, LeMone commented "I encourage all our members working in visual media to reach out and utilize our newly configured department for whatever needs they may have. Whether it be career advice, questions about royalty statements or industry practices, ASCAP has the best people available at any PRO in addressing the needs of professional composers."

ASCAP's Film & Television Membership department is responsible for outreach to some of the Society's most prominent and successful members, including all composer members working professionally in the film, television and video game industries. Outreach includes ASCAP's Film & TV Music Awards, TV and film scoring workshops in Los Angeles and New York, attendance at film festivals, conferences and the development of numerous other educational and career-enhancing programs throughout the country. The department's success in recent years has resulted in a dominant market share for ASCAP across the entire spectrum of audio-visual media.
