ASCAP singer, songwriter and actor Shane Harper released a four-song digital EP entitled Dancin' In the Rain on August 14th, 2012. This comes hot on the heels of his full-length self-titled album, released February 14th through Deep Well Records, a label owned by ASCAP producer Adam Anders (Glee, Rock of Ages).

"Working with my executive producer, Adam Anders, is always a blessing," says Harper. "He challenges me to refine my songs, and to set high standards for my work. I think it's the Swedish in him that makes him such a perfectionist!"

Harper couldn't be happier about the release of the EP. "The three new songs and cover song for the new EP were originally recorded for the Target exclusive version of my full-length record, so having the opportunity to release them digitally as an EP is really exciting for me," Harper enthuses. "I, along with my producers and co-writers, worked really hard to make them the best they could be. One of the songs, 'Dancin' in the Rain,' came to me right after watching my favorite movie musical, 'Singing in the Rain,' starring Gene Kelly. I love it when writing music is a natural seamless process. After watching the musical, I literally just sat down at the piano, and the song started to write itself."

"Another song that I really love on this EP is 'Flat World,'" Harper continues. "This definitely flowed from listening to some of my favorite music, like Coldplay and John Mayer. The release of this new music marks the beginning of a growing process for me as an artist, and I hope my fans will enjoy these songs as much as I do."

Harper is no stranger to adoring fans. Tours with Cody Simpson, Greyson Chance, Miranda Cosgrove and Demi Lovato, coupled with his popularity as an actor, have made Shane Harper a household name. Established and new fans alike have fallen in love with Harper through his music as well as his roles in Disney's Good Luck Charlie, Wizards of Waverly Place, Zoey 101 and the films My Name Is Kahn and Flipped. He has also performed as a dancer on So You Think You Can Dance, Nickelodeon's Dance on Sunset and High School Musical 2.

Even aside from the release of Dancin' in the Rain, August and September are proving to be busy months for Harper. His song "One Step Closer" was recently featured on MTV's The Real World and his upcoming tour dates include opening for Carly Rae Jepsen at the LA County Fair on September 1st and a Radio Disney show in Lansing, MI on September 22nd. Come rain or come shine, now is certainly the time to be "Dancin' in the Rain" for Shane Harper!
