ASCAP Members Fergie and Jazmine Sullivan Honored at Billboard's Women in Music Event

Black Eyed Peas vocalist and six-time Grammy Award-winning artist Fergie was honored with Billboard's Woman of the Year Award at the 2010 Billboard Women in Music Event, held December 2nd at the Pierre Hotel in New York.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan received the Rising Star Award, which honors artists that have achieved a level of success and proven to have vast potential in the early stages of their career, and Lea Michele, the 24-year-old Broadway ingenue-turned-breakout star of Fox's Glee, received the inaugural Triple Threat Award, which recognizes excellence in performance across acting, singing and dancing.

Also honored at the event were Karen Sherry, Senior Vice President of Industry Affairs, ASCAP and Executive Director of The ASCAP Foundation, and ASCAP Board Member Kathy Spanberger, President/COO of the Anglo-American region, peermusic, who were among Billboard's list of Top 30 Power Players. The list recognizes female executives who drive the music business forward with vision, dedication and hard work.
