9 ASCAP Writers Shortlisted for Daytime Emmys

May 26, 2021

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced its first batch of nominees for the 48th annual Daytime Emmy Awards - and nine ASCAP members made the shortlist across two music categories.

We are thrilled to represent all five nominees in the Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Daytime Program category! A special shout out to ASCAP Board member Michelle Lewis, whose song "Unsaid Emily" from Julie and the Phantoms earned a Best Original Song nod – her third career nomination.

This year's Daytime Emmys ceremony will be broadcast on Friday, June 25 on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Additional nominees for Children's Programming & Animation and Lifestyle Programming will be announced June 28; those two categories will be presented as standalone shows, scheduled for July 17 and July 18.
