As the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards enters its 48th year of honoring the finest in Christian and gospel music, ASCAP is elated to congratulate our members on their 54 nominations, and wish them nothing but the best for this year’s ceremony.

This esteemed group of nominees includes a number of ASCAP songwriters who highlighted our own awards shows recently. Joel Smallbone, ASCAP’s Christian Music Awards Songwriter-Artist of the Year, is a Dove Awards Artist of the Year nominee with his band for KING & COUNTRY. Colby Wedgeworth, who wrote the ASCAP Christian Awards Song of the Year “The River,” is shortlisted for Producer of the Year at the Dove Awards.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard, who graced us with a phenomenal performance during our 2017 Rhythm & Soul Awards ceremony, is nominated for Gospel Artist of the Year. Other nominations include Jekalyn and Allundria Carr for Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for "You're Bigger," which earned Allundria her first Rhythm & Soul Award (and contributed to her family's rich musical legacy).
