With its walls of flame, gigantic basketballs and mammoth pool parties, the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards brought the glory of the music video to life.

ASCAP songwriters Gucci Mane, Kyle, Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Rod Stewart matched every spectacular set piece with an unforgettable performance throughout the show.

The night belonged to Kendrick Lamar, who turned in a literally incendiary performance in addition to winning six “moon people” (fka “moon men”) for his video for “HUMBLE.,” the first single from his acclaimed #1 album DAMN. But ASCAP members and their videos dominated the entire awards show, taking nine competitive categories in all, plus two “Fight Against the System” honors.

Congrats to all of our winners - and a special shout-out to ASCAP member Katy Perry for her charismatic hosting job!
