The Songwriter Equity Act Continues To Add Co-Sponsors As The Congressional Year Comes To An End
December 6, 2016
In the final weeks of the 114th Congressional session, the Songwriter Equity Act (H.R. 1283) continues to add co-sponsors in the House of Representatives. The latest legislator to support the Bill is Rep. Stephen Knight, a republican from the state of California. In recent months, Reps. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Jared Huffman (D-CA) also joined as co-sponsors bringing the total number within the House to 42.
Rep. Knight (R-CA) is junior Member of the House having been elected in 2014. He serves California’s 25th district which is home to thousands of songwriters and composers, and sits on the Armed Services, Science, Space and Technology, and Small Business committees.
We thank him and the many other Congressional Members who have joined onto the Songwriter Equity Act this session, and hope to count on their support going forward into the next Congress.
