Sundance 2021 Composer Spotlight: Charli Circus

Charli Circus

Film: The Criminals

Charli Circus is a french composer based in Paris, France. He has worked on a number of short films, art installations and videos.

He initially practiced classical singing for twenty plus years, specifically baroque and French twentieth-century music. Charli created the indie rock band 8LPM!, then he produced and released albums as a solo artist and for the folk singer Kit Thomas, he toured extensively with both. His current project is Mooon, a space pop duo. He is also a prolific sound editor, sound designer and mixer. This has given him a strong feel for the narrative form.

All of these different universes and genres inspire Charli. He is constantly looking to add soul to the hard drive as he did in the score for The Criminals.
