Sundance 2021 Composer Spotlight: Andrea Boccadoro

Film: Violation

Andrea Boccadoro is an award winning composer of film, TV and games music based in London, UK. In 2020, Andrea composed the original score for the feature film Violation by directors Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli, premiered at Sundance 2021 and TIFF 2020. Previously, he scored “faith-grappling” drama Speaking in Tongues, directed by Nathan Deming, and was an orchestrator on Matteo Garrone’s Pinocchio, working with Oscar winning composer Dario Marianelli. In 2019, his score for the video game Astrologaster received several game awards nominations, and was featured on the BBC Radio 3 program “Sound of Gaming.”


Andrea’s work has been recognized across Europe, earning him a Jerry Goldsmith Award in 2015, a Cinézik Prize at the Festival D’Aubagne in 2019, and the Universal Music Publishing Award at the Cortinametraggio Festival in 2019. In 2018, he was selected for the Berlinale Talents program.
