Jon Natchez is a composer, arranger, songwriter, improviser, and multi-instrumentalist. He won a 2018 Grammy as a member of The War on Drugs, was formerly a member of the acclaimed group Beirut, and has performed and/or recorded with David Byrne, St. Vincent, The National, Owen Pallett, Father John Misty, Craig Wedren, Taylor Mac, John Zorn, and Liza Minnelli, among others. A graduate of Harvard University with an interdisciplinary degree in Cultural Studies, Music, & Performance, he focuses on creating music that blends improvisation and stochastic processes with traditional composition.
Recent feature scores include No Future (2020), Light From Light (2019), Cubby (2019), Mafak (2018), and Boo! (2018, winner of Best Score at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival); he also has composed for the films Brittany Runs a Marathon (2019), William (2019), and A Futile and Stupid Gesture (2018), as well as the Netflix series Chef's Table (2019) and Afflicted (2018).
