Sundance 2020 Composer Spotlight: Neil Haverty

As a founding member of Toronto ensemble Bruce Peninsula and as a solo artist, Haverty has released several critically-acclaimed LPs and has toured extensively across North America, including headlining appearances at SXSW and the Dawson City Music Festival. As an audio/visual composer, Neil has contributed to numerous short and feature films (Sleeping Giant, Small Town Murder Songs, Burns Point) and has screened work at the Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, and other prestigious film festivals. Haverty is an alumnus of the Slaight Family Music Lab at the Canadian Film Centre, and is a co-founder of the music video finance support initiatives Prism Prize & The MVP Project. He recently completed work on the Newfoundland-based coming-of-age feature, Body & Bones, and is included in the 2020 Sundance program as the composer for the animated short Hot Flash.
