Martin Dirkov is a Copenhagen-based film composer and sound designer. Martin has made music from an early age and during his stay in London from 2000 to 2005 he started working with filmmakers doing both music and sound design for small art films.
After his return to Copenhagen he was accepted into the Danish film school in 2007 and graduated in 2011 as a sound designer. In the following years Martin worked in sound design, as composer for fashions shows and installation art and later primarily as composer of feature films. Martin mixes classical music with all genres and electronic elements. He uses a lot of sampling of voices or other instruments to create a sound that’s hard to define or categorize. In 2017, Martin was nominated for a Robert for Best Score for the film Shelley by Ali Abasi.
