Biography
Judith Gruber-Stitzer is a film composer with an eclectic style that is as varied as the films she’s scored. She’s a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, having scored two Oscar nominated films. Working in English and French, in Canada and the US, Gruber-Stitzer’s scores grace over 80 live action and animated films and TV productions, including the film I Like Girls which will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival 2018. Equally at home recording an orchestral soundtrack in Prague or an electronica EDM track in Montreal, her music retains a distinctive emotional core.
Early in her career, she worked with the legendary director Robert Altman on two films and composed additional music for a feature scored by Philip Glass. This past spring she scored a feature documentary narrated by Julianna Margulies and Tony Goldwyn. Her next score will feature a Russian Men’s Choir.
