Biography
Joshua Abrams is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who has written scores for seven feature films: Steve James' Abacus, Small Enough to Jail, Life Itself, & The Interrupters, Bill Siegel's The Trials of Muhammad Ali, Aaron Wickenden & Dan Rybicky's Almost There, Jamie Meltzer's True Conviction and Dinesh Sabu's Unbroken Glass. Cinema Eye Honors and the Georgia Film Critics Association nominated him for best score of 2014 for his work on Life Itself. He has written music for several short films including Simon Starling’s Project for a Rift Valley Crossing & El Eco, Steve James’ The Value of Work, and The Ride of Their Lives. His group Natural Information Society has released five albums including 2017’s Simultonality and 2015’s Magnetoception. As an acoustic bassist Joshua has collaborated on over one hundred albums and thousands of performances. He recently finished work on Steve James’ series America To Me.
