Giovanni Mancini

Recipient of the prestigious Jimmy Van Heusen Award for Best Score, featured as one of ASCAP's “Composer to Watch,” Giovanni is an Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has written music for several films that have premiered at international film festivals, such as the Underground Cinema Film Festival and the Depth of Field International Film Festival, and has composed for several major Italian animation studios (Animago, Cantina Animation), scoring films and series that have been broadcast on the major Italian television network, RAI. He is also an extremely active and versatile multi-instrumentalist, and has toured all over Europe with bands like Passogigante and Tuna Milk, performing on bass, guitar and synthesizers.

Drawing from a very diverse background, Giovanni combines jazz, ethnic sounds, experimental rock and electronics in his unique musical world. He regularly collaborates with dancers and choreographers like Luisa Guicciardini, and his concert works have been executed by top tier orchestras such as the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Giovanni holds a Master’s Degree in Composition from the Conservatory of Ferrara, Italy and a Master’s in Scoring for Film and Visual Media from Pulse College in Dublin, Ireland.
