Sundance Film: Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Historically Black Colleges and Universities


Emmy nominated composer Tom Phillips' credits include well over 500 films for national broadcast networks such as PBS, ABC, CBS, National Geographic Channel, Lifetime, A&E, HBO and others. Along the way he has scored many Emmy award winning films, Sundance Film Festival winners, independent feature films and museum installations such as complex multi-media projects for the American Museum of Natural History in New York. A very short list of credits include Summer Solstice (ABC) with Henry Fonda and Myrna Loy, The Antiques Roadshow Theme (PBS), Freedom Riders (American Experience) the winner of 3 Prime Time Emmys, and The Murder of Emmett Till (American Experience) which was a Sundance Film Festival winner and a Prime Time Emmy winner. His score for Jesse Owens (American Experience) received a 2013 News & Documentary Emmy award nomination in the Outstanding Music & Sound category. In 2007 he formed OBT Music, an online film music library specializing in true documentary music for film (www.obtmusic.com).
