Sundance Film: Killing Ground
Leah Curtis’ most recent score is for Damien Power’s intelligent Australian suspense thriller Killing Ground which will premiere at Sundance 2017. Best known for her captivating use of musical texture, she intricately casts live players for each film. Her resulting scores unearth a truth, finding the tension and magic that exists between perfection and humanity. With seven HMMA nominations across multiple categories, including wins for Best World Music for the Kuwaiti war film To Rest in Peace and historical epic Exitus Roma, Curtis’ work has been featured in festivals in Dubai, Cannes, New York and Aspen.
A Fulbright recipient and visiting composer at USC’s film music program, Curtis holds a MA(Hons) from the Australian Film Television and Radio School. She works out of LA, writing, orchestrating and conducting music for international cinema, as a music producer, and scoring epic short form branded content with her filmmaker collaborators.
