Tyler Durham, from Nixa, MO, earned his master’s degree in music composition for the screen at Columbia College Chicago in June 2017. In 2013, he received Best Score at the Los Angeles Web-Fest, a nomination for Best Original Music from the International Academy of Web Television, and a Bronze Telly Award for his work on Epilogue: The Series. Tyler was also a semi-finalist in the International CINE Film Scoring Competition in 2013 for his Virtus Vitae score. Tyler's symphony, The New Frontier, was a winner in the Young Composer's Challenge, a national contest sponsored by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and was performed live by the orchestra in 2011. His wind ensemble work, Flight of the Monarchs, was premiered by the Missouri State University Wind Ensemble in March 2014. Flight of the Monarchs was also selected to be performed at the SCI Region VI Conference by Henderson State University in March 2015. Tyler was the winner of the 2016 Urbana Pops Orchestra’s Video Game Cinematics Competition and his piece Escaping the Enemy was performed live to picture by the orchestra. He was recently selected to participate in the 2017 ASCAP Workshop with Richard Bellis and is currently based in Los Angeles.
