Riley Hughes

Riley Hughes began his music career as a singer/songwriter playing the guitar in Montague, Michigan and now lives and works in Los Angeles, pursuing his passion composing music for film. He has written for features including Lockhart (2016) and additional composition on The Jade Pendant (2017). He has also worked in the music department on films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2018), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), The Secret Life of Pets (2016), La La Land (2016) and Ghostbusters (2016).

Riley graduated with a Master’s in Scoring for Film/Television & Video Games from Berklee College of Music under the direction of Andy Hill and Laura Karpman. He also holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Columbia College Chicago having studied with composers, Marcos Balter and Kenn Kumpf.

Riley’s music has been performed at festivals and venues including Hear Now Los Angeles New Music Festival 2015, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, the Harris Theater, and Roosevelt Auditorium, the Frauenthal Center for Performing arts, and the Sherwood Conservatory of Music. He has had works recorded at the Warner Brothers Scoring stage, the Ann Kris Stage, and at Capitol Records.
