Levente Kovács is a young Hungarian composer, currently based in Vienna. He has been playing the piano by ear since the age of five. After learning classical piano he was introduced to the basics of jazz piano as well. After studying applied composition at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Budapest he decided to do his master’s degree in media composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, where he is still a student.
He participated at numerous film scoring workshops and learned from composers like Alexandre Desplat, Harry-Gregson Williams and John Debney. Levente was a finalist at international film music competitions such as Transatlantiyk (2015, 2016) Oticons Faculty (2015) and FMF Young Talent Award (2012 - 2016). He placed 2nd in the German Game Music Award in 2012, where his works were performed live at the final by the Youth Orchestra of Bremen. He scored several short films and gained experience through working together with Hungarian film directors and game designers.
