Bernhard Philipp Eder

Bernhard Philipp Eder studied composition and orchestral conducting at the University of Music & Performing Arts Vienna (Austria).

He also attended conducting masterclasses with Bertrand de Billy & Fabio Luisi and has conducted orchestras such as the ORF Radiosymphony Orchestra Vienna,Kammerorchester Atout, Sinfonietta dell' Arte, Klaspärlimäng Sinfonietta (Estonia), and the tonzauber Studio Orchestra.

Bernhard regularly participated at the Hollywood Music Workshop in Austria, under the instructions of Bruce Broughton, Blake Neely and Conrad Pope, and conducted several recording sessions there in 2012 & 2013.

His score for the Austrian shortfilm “Daydreamer” (2015) was nominated for BEST SCORE (Maverick Movie Awards 2015), and was nominated for the German short “Edge of the Wood” (2017) in the category Best Sound / Music at the largo Film Awards February 2017.

In 2006 he won the 1st prize at the "Salieri Today" international composing competition.

Bernhard also works as a freelance orchestrator/arranger for prominent organisations such as Hollywood in Vienna, City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra London, Opera Graz, Max Steiner Orchestra and exil arte.

In 2014 he was a guest composer at the international „ensemble mise-en festival“ in New York City, USA.

Since October 2016 Bernhard teaches as an assistant in a composition class at the Music University Vienna.
