Sara McDonald is an award winning composer, arranger, and vocalist living in Brooklyn New York. She earned her bachelors degree in vocal jazz performance with an emphasis in composition from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. After graduation Sara went on to perform with her 22 piece orchestra at world renowned venues throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Her progressive-jazz orchestra has performed to sold out audiences at Lincoln Center and The John F. Kennedy Center and has performed at international festivals such as The Montreal Jazz Festival, The Moers Festival, Take The A-Train Festival, The International Festival of Arts and Ideas and Northside Festival, to name a few. Sara was the recipient of the 2015 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award, as well as the ASCAP Pheobe Jacobs Prize for her contributions in new jazz music.
