Skrillex Answers "Where Are Ü Now?" by Renewing with ASCAP

We are excited to announce that chart-topping EDM producer, DJ and songwriter Sonny Moore, aka Skrillex, has renewed his agreement with ASCAP for representation of public performances of his songwriting catalog. The Grammy-winning, multi-platinum, relentlessly touring force of nature has ruled the dance and pop charts alike, most recently with Rick Ross on the song "Purple Lamborghini," and last year as Jack Ü with Diplo and Justin Bieber on "Where Are Ü Now." Skrillex is currently nominated for two 2017 Grammys: Album of the Year for Bieber's Purpose and Best Song Written for Visual Media for "Purple Lamborghini," from the Suicide Squad soundtrack.

Skrillex is a superstar in the dance music community, known for pioneering dubstep in the US and beloved for his epic live sets. Mainstream audiences know him best for the chart-topping "Where Are Ü Now," recorded as part of Jack Ü. The song, from the 2015 album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü, reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs charts.

"Skrillex has redefined popular music with his rule-breaking sounds," said ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews. "He is a rare artist whose music manages to rule both warehouse raves and Top 40 radio. We're thrilled to have Sonny Moore as part of the ASCAP family."
