Congratulations to ASCAP's 2021 Grammy Nominees

November 24, 2020

The global ASCAP family has a lot to be grateful for this week! The Recording Academy made its annual announcement of the Grammy nominations on the morning of November 24, and it includes an incredibly diverse group of 200+ ASCAP members and affiliates from around the globe.

Leading the ASCAP pack is Beyoncé with a whopping nine nominations, followed closely by pop queen Dua Lipa with six. Jazz composer-arranger John Beasley, pop giant Justin Bieber, acclaimed indie rocker Phoebe Bridgers, hip-hop firebrand DaBaby and last year’s reigning Grammy champion Billie Eilish earned four nods a piece.

The Recording Academy will also honor several ASCAP greats with its 2021 Special Merit Awards. The Lifetime Achievement Award will go to our members Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Salt-N-Pepa and Talking Heads. The Music Educator Award will go to ASCAP composer Jeffrey Murdock, Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Arkansas.

The 63rd GRAMMY Awards ceremony has been postponed from its original air date of January 31, with a new date to be announced. In the meantime, congratulations to all of our nominees!
