Wendy Blackstone has created over 130 film scores ranging stylistically from offbeat to orchestral to rock, latin and jazz. For years she has experimented weaving originally designed sounds with acoustic ensembles to create innovative music for film. She works in both fiction and non fiction, drama and comedy. When Ms. Blackstone finished scoring “Dear Diary”, EP Steven Spielberg said Wendy’s music took the show from a 3 to a 9.” Directed by David Frankel, the show won an Academy Award. Wendy has scored 7 films which have either been nominated or won Academy Awards.

Feature films include: Juan Campanella's “Love Walked In” starring Terence Stamp and Denis Leary (Blackstone has scored over 10 films with Oscar winning director Campanella (the Secret in their Eyes); Nick Gomez’s “New Jersey Drive” EP: Spike Lee, Glenn Close’s “Journey”; Latin music for Betty Thomas’ comedy “Only You”; Susan Seidelman’s comedy “The Dutch Master”, starring Mira Sorvino. Wendy has scored five primetime television series, “Profiler”, “New York News”, “Maybe It’s Me”, stars Fred Willard and Julia Sweeney, “For The People” and currently “Masterclass”.

Recent documentary scores include Berlinger and Sinofsky's “Paradise Lost 3” for HBO, nominated for an Academy Award, 2012, “The Alzheimer Project” for HBO, Berlinger's "Crude", Gandolfini's "ALIVE DAY : Memories from Iraq", Gibney's "Human Behavior Experiments"" and Simon & Goodman's 2011Oscar Winning Strangers No More". Madeleine Sackler's “Dangerous Acts'' scored by Ms.Blackstone will premiere on HBO in 2014. Premiering at Sundance this year is Joe Berlingers latest feature on Whitey Bulger.

In 2011, Ms. Blackstone was nominated for an Emmy for her score for “ The Lord is Not on Trial”.

She composed the score for the Tony nominated play directed by George C. Wolfe, written and performed by Anna Deveare Smith, Twilight: Los Angeles performed at both the Papp Public Theater and the Cort Theater on Broadway. Wendy was the first woman film composer signed to Creative Artists Agency. Currently a documentary is being filmed about Ms. Blackstone.
