James Ewers

Composer: Notes on Blindness


James Ewers is a British composer, songwriter and producer based in London.

As a solo singer songwriter under the name Lonesound and as frontman of indie band My Luminaries, Ewers's music has gained airplay on national radio stations including BBC Radio 1 and XFM, coverage in National press including The NME and The Sunday Times Culture, as well as performing at major festivals including Glastonbury and T in the Park. In the US, Lonesound track 'Who Was Watching' was recently featured in NBC show SMASH, and 'As We Go Along' was named Editor's Choice on US iTunes. He has also composed music for commercials, including campaigns for Skype, Clinique and Head & Shoulders.

Ewers has composed music for Peter Middleton and James Spinney's films since their very first shorts. His first soundtrack collaboration with composer Mike Murray resulted in a song and behind the scenes documentary music for feature film HONEYMOONER, which premiered at the 2010 Edinburgh Film Festival and was released in 2011 through Soda Pictures. Together they soundtracked Middleton & Spinney's NOTES ON BLINDNESS: RAINFALL, which won the Best Short Film Award at Hot Docs 2013 and was nominated for the ICA Experimental Film Award.
