Born in Amsterdam 1951

Student at the Rietveld Academy and the Royal Academy in Amsterdam.

1974 starts the band Nits

Composer, singer, video-artist and designer

25 Nits albums till now... with the song In The Dutch Mountains they have a huge hit >all over Europe in 1987... concerts in Europe, Japan, Canada, New York and Moscow.

Director of all the videoclips of Nits including the prizewinning clip of In The Dutch Mountains.

Several scores for Dutch feature films and documentaries….with Nits two documentaries of the BBC and recently a score for a Begian film about the Mont Ventoux of the Tour de France.

In 1992 he makes a film about the house of Leonard Cohen on the island of Hydra in Greece with his friend and filmmaker Seppo Pietikäinen for the Finish TV.

In 2001 invited by the Bienale of Lyon in France to make a video-installation for the Museum of Modern Art....he makes The Portable House about his house and his 3 daughters In Amsterdam.

In 2006 directed a music film for the Dutch tv about a project of a famous Dutch composer Henny Vrienten….Night ‘The Soundtrack’.

2013 invited bij Norwegian film director Eskil Vogt to write the score for his feature film ‘Blind’.

At the moment touring with the Avalanche Quartet performing the songs of Leonard Cohen.
