Gavin Brivik

Featured on ASCAP's "Composer Spotlight: Film Composers to Watch," winner of the World Soundtrack Award for Best Composition by a Young International Composer with a performance of his work by The Brussels Philharmonic, the winner of ASCAP's Jimmy Van Heusen film composer award, and a recipient of the prestigious Alan Menken Film Scoring Award, Gavin Brivik is a composer based out of New York City. Some of Gavin's recent work includes scoring the Student Academy Award Gold Medal-winning film My Nephew Emmett, writing additional music for the SHOWTIME Series Active Shooter, co-writing music for the Netflix series Dirty Money and orchestration for the Netflix original documentary One Of Us. Gavin participated in both the 2015 ASCAP/NYU Television and Film Scoring Workshop, and the 2017 ASCAP/Columbia Film Scoring Workshop. Gavin also freelances for multiple advertising production houses including Elias, Found Objects Music, RockBox TV and SCORE A SCORE. He worked on UNICEF's documentary series Jamaican Stories, and won NYU’s Promotional Music Contest with his winning score recorded by an orchestra in Smecky Studios, Prague.
