Carlos Simon

Carlos Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Morehouse College (Piano and Composition), a Master of Music degree from Georgia State University (Composition) and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

He was a finalist for the 2015 Marvin Hamlisch Film Scoring Contest and will serve as the young composer in-residence for the Detroit Chamber Strings and Winds for the 2015-2016 season. For three years, Simon toured with soul artist Angie Stone; traveling to extensively throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. He has collaborated as music director and keyboardist with Tony and GRAMMY AWARD winner Jennifer Holliday; performing with the Boston Pops Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony and the St. Louis Symphony.
