Argentine-born composer and violinist, Nicolas Repetto , enjoys an active career in the Los Angeles film music community.
In June 2016, Nicolas was accepted to the prestigious ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis where 12 composers are selected out of a pool of 300 applicants to spend amonth in Los Angeles learning about the industry from notable composers, film/tv executives,agents, and other film music members.
Nicolas honed his film scoring skills and techniques at the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program under Emmywinning composer, Hummie Mann ( Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Dracula Dead and Loving It ). Since moving to Los Angeles in 2012, Nicolas has been accepted into theesteemed Society of Composers and Lyricists Mentorship Program , the ChristopherYoung Tilden House Residency Program for Film Scoring , and is currently featured onASCAP’s “Composer Spotlight” .
As a fellow composer in the Project Involve/Film Independent Program , Nicolas scored Debris (Escombros) which had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival at the American Pavilion/Short Film Corner. Nicolas also received a Global Music Award and a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination for his original score to Ode In Blood . Other notable collaborations include: original scores to Digital Edition and A Few Things About Cancer (both available on Amazon), and the featurefilm, Desires of the Heart . Nicolas was also selected as one of the winning composers for the Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival , and his original score to the silent film, Miranda , was performed by the Helix Collective Film Scoring Ensemble on April 2016. On television, Nicolas’ music can be heard on the TLC network, onUnivision’s Amas de Casas Deseperadas , and on numerous TV advertisements and jinglesfor the Beber Silverstein Group . He has also written custom trailer music for Harry Lennix’s(NBC’s The Blacklist , Man of Steel ) feature film, H4 .
As a conductor and music educator, Nicolas served as conductor of the South Florida Youth Symphony for 5 seasons, orchestrated and conducted several concerts for the Alhambra Orchestra for 3 seasons, and conducted the musicians of the New World Symphony for their MusicLab Outreach Program .
When not working on his own composing projects, Nicolas performs around Los Angeles as a freelance recording session violinist/violist, and also assists composers, Penka Kouneva (Transformers: VG, Woman Astronaut ) and Cliff Eidelman ( Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country ) with additional music, music preparation, and orchestration work on various media and concert music projects.
