Stefan French is an Irish film composer currently based in Dublin. He has gained extensive credits both in Ireland and in the US since 2009 across ﬁlm, television, radio and commercial media. One of his more recent films was 'The Guarantee', directed by Ian Power and produced by John Kelleher Media for TV3. 'The Guarantee' was nominated at IFTA 2015 for Best Script. Previous commercial projects have included clients such as Intel, HP, Symantec, Avaya, Align Tech., RTE Radio 1 and TV3. In 2014, he was one of four composers selected for the IMRO/RTE Film Scoring Program 2014. This gave him the opportunity to score the animation 'An Ode To Love' (Winner of Best Animation at Foyle Film Festival 2015, Nominated for Best Animation at IFTA 2015) produced by Oscar, BAFTA and Emmy-nominated Brown Bag Films. The score was recorded at RTE Studio 1 with the RTE Concert Orchestra in April 2014. In 2013 he was awarded a Film Music Foundation Scholarship and a 'Travel and Training Award' from the Irish Arts Council to attend the prestigious NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in New York. Here he studied with Sean Callery, Tim Starnes, Mark Snow and other esteemed members of the New York University faculty. This workshop culminated in recording sessions with top-tier musicians from the NY Philharmonic and Met Opera Orchestras. Stefan is currently completing his Masters in Film Scoring at Pulse College, situated in Windmill Lane Recording Studios, Dublin.
