Jordan Cox is an active film composer and orchestrator in Los Angeles, California. His works for the screen range from short films and documentaries to commercials, television segments, and radio dramas. Recent film scores include "From Wasioja to Washington," "The Saddle," and "Born Again." As an orchestrator, Cox has worked on numerous television, film and video game projects including most recently, "Black Sails," "Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Special Blood,” “Father Joseph,” and “Hektor.” Cox has written over 76 concert works, including six symphonies, four concerti, two masses and numerous programmatic works. His compositions have been performed throughout Australia, Europe and North America. Cox earned a B.M. in Music Composition and B.M.E. in Music Education from the University of Northwestern and is a graduate of the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television Program at the University of Southern California, where he studied under Jack Smalley, Eric Schmidt, Patrick Kirst, Garry Schyman, Chris Young and Bruce Broughton. He also had the honor of being mentored by Alan Silvestri as part of the elite Thornton School Of Music Board of Councilors’ Student Mentorship program.
