Maxwell Sterling



Originally from the United Kingdom, Maxwell is an award winning composer for film, dance and multimedia. He has scored over 20 films (including 4 feature-length) which have been screened at Cannes Film Festival, LA Film Festival, Incredifest Film Festival and Sun City Film Festival.

Maxwell studied Jazz composition and double bass at Leeds College of music under the tutorage of Mark Donlon, Mike Gibbs and Kenny Wheeler and has performed with Dave Liebman and the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.

He then moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to study film scoring at UCLA Extension. Since finishing his studies, he has worked as an assistant to Nima Fakhrara on the film 'The Signal' and also alongside game and film composer, Boris Salchow. Most recently, Maxwell completed the score to Ty Hodges' film, ' A Girl Like Grace' which premiers at the LA Film Festival. He is also currently working on a ballet score which will be performed at 'British Art Show 8'.
