Don’t miss the ASCAP Annual Membership Meeting and official ASCAP EXPO Kick-off on Thursday, April 13th at 9:30am at the Dolby Ballroom. From ASCAP leaders you’ll discover how far we’ve come over the past year: from the innovative new services we’ve unveiled for our members to our historic high revenues and royalty distributions, from our members’ incredible chart success and critical acclaim to the gains we’ve made in Washington in our fight for music licensing reform. But you’ll also hear from some of ASCAP’s top music creators, who will share advice on how to grow a career and perform some of their best-loved songs. Special guests include:

*Michael McDonald, longtime ASCAP member and five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, whose career spans four decades, including as lead singer with The Doobie Brothers (“Taking It to The Streets,” “Minute by Minute”) as well as a successful solo career (“Yah Mo B There,” “Sweet Freedom”).

*Ashley Gorley, songwriter (“Dirty Laundry,” “Heartbeat,” “T-Shirt,”) who has written 30 #1 singles and has over 250 songs recorded by artists such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley and more, and who was named ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year four times.

*Brett McLaughlin, singer, songwriter, producer and composer who performs under the name Leland and who has written with and for such artists as Capital Cities, Troye Sivan, Kat Graham and Daya, for whom he wrote the 2016 Top 40 hit song “Hide Away.”

*Mateo Messina, film and TV composer, who after participating the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis in 2005, went on to great success scoring for films such as Juno, L!fe Happens, Butter, Barely Lethal and TV shows such as Superstore, Graves, Harley and the Davidsons, Casual, Dig and more.

*Tom Higgenson, singer-songwriter and front-man for the rock band Plain White T’s, who wrote the #1 hit song “Hey There Delilah,” which achieved Platinum status and earned two Grammy nominations, as well as the hits “1,2,3,4” and “Rhythm of Love.” Higgenson is also an alumnus of the ASCAP Song Camp in France.

Your EXPO badge is your pass into the ASCAP Annual Membership Meeting - pick it up at the Loews registration desk (2nd floor mezzanine) and head on over to the Dolby Ballroom at 9:30am on April 13!
