The final day of the 2017 EXPO schooled us on lyric writing, copyright law, indie publishing, artist funding and much more. But the undisputed highlight of the day - and the EXPO itself - was Stevie Wonder's transcendent, soulful, hilarious conversation with Janelle Monáe.

Day 2 of the EXPO was all about passion and empowerment, with important panels about reforming music licensing and righting the gender imbalance in film scoring. We heard some great music too, and got schooled on digital revenue, team-building, publishing and more.

The ASCAP EXPO started with a bang on April 13th. Our Membership Meeting began the day on an up note, with news of ASCAP's - and our members'- incredible success in 2016. The rest of the day was jam-packed with info, inspiration and great music lasting into the wee hours.

Breaking news: multi-talented singer-songwriter and actress Janelle Monáe will interview Stevie Wonder during his Keynote session of the ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO on Saturday, April 15th. Monae will also join ASCAP President Paul Williams to present Wonder with the inaugural ASCAP Key of Life Award.
