Music+Sound Awards 2013

Entry for the Music+Sound International Awards 2013 is now open. Gaming, film, TV and advertising professionals are invited to become part of a music and sound celebration, which offers this incredible wealth of talent their moment in the limelight.

There will be awards for Best Original Composition, Best Sound Design and Best Sync across the entire audio and visual media industries. Entries will be judged by a panel of industry authorities including Tim Mellors (Chief Creative Head of the Grey Group), Klaus Badelt (composer of Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean) and Tom Eaton (Head of Music for Advertising at Universal Publishing). The inaugural UK Music+Sound Awards in 2012 attracted worldwide interest, so much so that the international competition has been launched for 2013. Music+Sound International will establish the criteria and standard for international excellence in music and sound for the media.

A stunning line up of artists took to the stage at the UK ceremony, which featured performances from the likes of The Noisettes, Newton Faulkner, The Phenomenal Handclap Band and a DJ set from Gary Numan and Ade Fenton. Music+Sound Awards International 2013 will celebrate in June with a finalists and winners beach party at the Festival of Creativity in Cannes.

Deadline for entries is March 31st, 2013.

Entries can be made at www.masawards.com. The cost per entry per category is £95. Works need to have been completed between October 1st, 2011 and March 31st, 2013

The Music+Sound Awards are the world’s first and only awards program to recognize and celebrate the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that music and sound design play in the world of visual media.

Aimed at professionals working in advertising, film, television (branding and programming) and gaming, the awards are open to anyone around the world who is or has been involved in the creation, composition, sourcing, licensing, briefing and / or production of music and sound design for any visual media broadcast or released within the eligibility window.

The awards categories have been created to include the widest possible use of music and sound in visual media. They invite entries from television and cinema commercials, non-broadcast or viral advertising, branding and title sequence, feature films, television programs and computer games.

Each of these areas will be judged for best original composition, best sound design and best sync/use of existing music.
