Paul Williams to be Honored with Museum of Moving Image Retrospective

ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams

New York’s Museum of Moving Image will honor ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams with a weekend retrospective, running January 25th through 27th, showcasing his remarkable career as a composer, singer, songwriter and actor, among other things. The retrospective will include screenings of Williams’ most prominent work with film, including a new digital restoration of 1987’s Ishtar, Brian De Palma’s Phantom of the Paradise, The Muppet Movie and the acclaimed new documentary Paul Williams: Still Alive. Williams, an Academy Award-winner singer-songwriter best known for penning hits like Three Dog Night’s “An Old Fashioned Love Song”; The Carpenters’ “We’ve Only Just Begun”; "Evergreen," from the Barbra Streisand version of A Star is Born; and “Rainbow Connection,” performed by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie, will appear in-person at all screenings.
