New York's Museum of Moving the Image will honor ASCAP President and Chairman Paul Williams with a weekend retrospective, running January 25th through 27th, showcasing his remarkable career as a composer, singer, songwriter and actor, among other things. The retrospective will include screenings of Williams' most prominent work with film, including a new digital restoration of 1987's Ishtar, Brian De Palma's Phantom of the Paradise, The Muppet Movieand the acclaimed new documentary Paul Williams: Still Alive. Williams, an Academy Award-winner singer-songwriter best known for penning hits like Three Dog Night's "An Old Fashioned Love Song"; The Carpenters' "We've Only Just Begun"; "Evergreen," from the Barbra Streisand version of A Star is Born; and "Rainbow Connection," performed by Kermit the Frog in The Muppet Movie, will appear in-person at all screenings.
