Non-Interactive 5.1
The Non-Interactive 5.1 license is intended for services that perform ASCAP music in a non-interactive manner, meaning performances of specific songs or musical works are not selected by users.
Examples of transmissions that qualify for Non-Interactive 5.1 include:
- 'Webcasts'
- Streaming background music
- Previews or 'samples' (song excerpts that are 60 seconds or less in duration)
ASCAP Experimental License Agreement for Interactive Services - Release 2.1
Interactive 2.1
The Interactive 2.1 license is intended for services that perform music in an interactive manner, meaning performances of specific songs or musical works are selected by users.
Examples of transmissions that qualify for Interactive 2.1 include:
- 'On-Demand' performances (e.g., Internet jukeboxes and music videos)
- 'Custom radio' (user-determined play-lists)
ASCAP Experimental License Agreement for Multiple Sites and Services
Multi-Site
The Multi-Site License affords owners/operators of multiple services in need of ASCAP licenses the convenience of entering into one license to cover all services. Moreover, most Multi-Site licensees will qualify for a unique license fee discount.
