ASCAP Presents... @ The 2004 New
Music Festival in Dallas, TX

The New Music Festival is North
Texas' premier emerging music showcase event
dedicated to uncovering and celebrating the region's
best new artists. From September 30 - October
2, 2004 thousands of fans will flood the streets
and clubs of Dallas' Deep Ellum club district
to watch more than 200 of their favorite new artists
perform live on more than ten stages, all within
a 2-3 block radius. |

The American Society of Composers, Authors
and Publishers (ASCAP) will present a showcase
during the last night of the music festival, featuring
some of the hottest up-and-coming bands. The line-up
is:

"ASCAP Presents..." is a showcase series
featuring the best unsigned bands in local music scenes
around the country. The showcases are designed to
support emerging performers and songwriters by bringing
their talents to the attention of both the music industry
and music fans alike. Past ASCAP Presents... participants
have included India.Arie, Jack Johnson, Old 97's,
Lit, Daniel Lanois, Drowning Pool, Rodney Crowell,
Pearl Jam, Semisonic, Eisley, Damien Rice, Liz Phair,
The Mavericks and Jason Mraz, among others.
2004 marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of
ASCAP. As the world's largest Performing Rights
Organization, ASCAP has over 190,000 composer, lyricist
and music publisher members representing all genres
of music. ASCAP is committed to protecting the rights
of its members by licensing and collecting royalties
for the public performance of their copyrighted works,
and then distributing these fees to the Society's
members based on performances. ASCAP's Board
of Directors is made up solely of writers and publishers,
