Blue Sky Riders have taken flight with the release of their highly anticipated full-length debut, Finally Home. A veritable who's who of music royalty, the group counts the iconic Kenny Loggins, Nashville hitmaker Georgia Middleman (who has penned songs for Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney and others) and award-winning songwriter Gary Burr (Conway Twitty, Wynona Judd) within its ranks.
The creative spark that ignited Blue Sky Riders was struck when Loggins and Burr began working on songs together. Their chemistry inspired them both to "get back on the horse" and start a new band. Loggins welcomed the challenge but wanted to add a third, female voice. Burr, whose accolades include being named Songwriter of the Year by ASCAP, Billboard and NSAI, suggested Middleman. She quickly accepted their invitation and Blue Sky Riders were born.
The group recently performed at the Sundance ASCAP Music Café in Park City, Utah during the prestigious film festival. Backstage they talked about the joys of combining their three voices, trusting each other’s instincts and what their newfound collaboration means to them.
