Members of Fountains of Wayne, Nada Surf, Spin Doctors Play ASCAP Sponsored Benefit for Kelly Buchanan

On Wednesday, September 10 at the Knitting Factory in New York, ASCAP sponsored a benefit show for ASCAP singer-songwriter Kelly Buchanan, who was injured during a roller hockey game in March 2008 and is suffering from traumatic brain damage. Members of Fountains of Wayne, Nada Surf, The Spin Doctors, Measure, and other special guests all performed their own songs and covers of Kelly's songs.

Kelly Buchanan is a Brooklyn singer-songwriter who has toured nationally and supported artists including Mike Doughty, Martha Wainwright and The Whigs. She was featured with other New York musicians in a New York 1 television spot last winter celebrating the channel's 15-year anniversary. On her new album, Buchanan wrote songs with a cast of talented artists, including Tracy Bonham, Adam Schlesinger (of Fountains Of Wayne and Ivy), Jeff Cohen (who has written hit songs for artists including Sugarland, Big & Rich, Josh Groban and Mandy Moore) and Josh Kaler (of the band Slow Runner).

Kelly's self-titled fourth album is available through iTunes and www.KellyBuchanan.com.
