Joe Echo

Joe Echo

It's been a busy eighteen months for Belfast singer, songwriter, and guitarist Ciaran Gribbin known professionally as Joe Echo. A prolific writer with an ever-expanding catalogue of songs, Joe Echo recently opened for The Script, James Morrison, Snow Patrol and Franz Ferdinand among others. He has also been very busy writing for other established artists such as Paul Oakenfold, with whom he has co-written and recorded several songs and who featured Echo as a vocalist on two songs on his forthcoming album Pop Killer. A remix of the Joe Echo song "On All My Sundays" is on the current Oakenfold album Perfecto: Vegas, which has gone straight in at No. 1 on the US download chart.

Most notably, Madonna's new single and album title track "Celebration" is a co-write between Madonna, her producers Oakenfold and Ian green, and also Joe Echo. And it doesn't stop there, Joe Echo has been writing and recording with Andy Cato and Tom Findlay of Groove Armada, as well as trying out new songs with the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Deadmau5.

Joe Echo's talents keep expanding and his work reflects that. Echo recently produced and performed several songs in Philip Ridley's Heartless, a new movie starring Jim Sturgess scheduled for release towards the end of 2009. Two of his songs are in Love and Suicide, the first American movie shot entirely on location in Cuba, and another of Echo's tracks made its way into "Wild Target" starring Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt. For Echo, so far 2009 has been filled with a varied mix of work and included more shows, collaborations and film music. He is currently in the studio completing his eagerly awaited album set for an early 2010 release, and you can hear snippets at www.myspace.com/joeecho!
