Dow Jones

Dow Jones

Dow Jones

What was your inspiration for Young Money's, "Every Girl?"

Dow Jones: That track really didn't have any inspiration; it was just a real feel-good record. We originally made it, while we were working with R. Kelly, but he passed on it. We made a couple changes and Lil' Wayne and Drake got their hands on it, rode the lead synth of the hook, and killed it. After that, it was a wrap. Everybody on the track gave a dope verse and the song was outta here.

What are you working on, currently?

Dow: Drake, T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, J. Cole, Jay Rock, Glasses Malone, Young Money, Gucci Mane, Mistah Fab, Young Jeezy, Chris Brown, Yo Gotti, etc. We are also starting to put together our debut producer album!

Where are you from, originally?

Dow: Seattle.

Who is your musical mentor and why?

Dow: All the other great producers, over the years, have been mentors. There is no blueprint for success in this game, but you can learn from watching what made others successful and try to implement that into your own situation.

What was your first introduction into the music industry?

Dow: I started doing mixtapes and learned the ropes from my big brother, Dv
One, who is an official Rock Steady Crew DJ.
