On September 23rd, ASCAP and Notable Music celebrated the release of The Best Is Yet To Come: The Songs Of Cy Coleman with a special concert at The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, part of the Museum's acclaimed series "The Drop." The Best Is Yet To Come is dedicated to the music of the Grammy, Emmy and Tony award-winning ASCAP songwriter Cy Coleman, the youngest member of the elite group of Great American Songbook composers. A lucky Grammy Museum audience was treated to intimate renditions of Coleman's songs, sung by four of the album's thirteen female artists: Jill Sobule, Sara Watkins, Perla Batalla and Julianna Raye. The album's producer and arranger Dave Palmer accompanied them on piano. Music critic Chris Morris moderated a discussion about the new recordings and Cy Coleman's legacy. Afterwards, the artists signed copies of the album.
