Korg's new MR-1000 ($1,499) is a portable tabletop/field recorder with up to 1-bit/5.6 MHz recording resolution. In addition to supporting a range of 1-bit formats (DSDIFF, DSF, WSD), it can record in multi-bit PCM formats with resolutions up to 24-bit/192 kHz and play back MP3 files. Analog input is via ultra low-impedance mic preamps with balanced XLR 1/4" inputs that offer phantom power and built-in limiting.
